Cielito Mexican Kitchen is opening on the ground floor of the Alice Building this spring. Cielito will open at 186 Union Street–most recently home to beloved Oberlin. The restaurant will be the second project from chef and owner Diego Alcantar who is also the owner and chef behind Central Fall’s James Beard Foundation nominated Tuxpan Taqueria.
The new restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner and serve corundas, carnitas, enchiladas, mole de olla, and more, including a colorful cocktail program, all showcasing the culinary traditions and flavors from Alcantar’s home town of Tuxpan, in Michoacán, Mexico.
Cielito will be opening directly across Union Street from our newly renovated Grant’s Block park and timing should work out well for the completion of both projects this spring.
Renovations at Cielito are underway, including interior design by local firm Libby Slader Design.
