In June of 2015, Cornish Associates partnered with Nordblom Company–a Boston area developer–to purchase the surface level parking lot and small building on the future site of the Nightingale Building.
Plans for new construction began right away. The Nightingale project was led by the team at Cube3 and construction was completed in 2021.
The new building brings 6 stories of mixed use residential and commercial space to the block between Fountain Street and Washington Street. On the 1st story, the building has 3 commercial units totaling 12,000 square feet, while on stories 2-6, there are 142 rental apartments. The modern amenities include a fully equipped fitness center, shared office space, an elevated central courtyard with grilling stations, indoor lounges with fireplaces, bicycle storage rooms, and more.
Design Within Reach, a national furniture retailer, opens on the ground floor of the newly renovated Wilkinson Building.
